Welcome to the first Pigg River Precision, Inc “Train up Match!” This DOES NOT count for any points in any series or affiliation, and there will be no trophies awarded. This event is specifically for those that are new shooters to the sport, or for those that consistently are placing in the bottom 50% of Regional Level Matches. It is going to be an educational event, with hands on instruction and guidance from some of the best shooters in the Southeast taking their time to help make you a better competitor in the sport. Together we hope to pass on some “best practices” to you from folks that compete at the upper levels, and we want to help you improve your skill set and game. Bring an open mind, and an open heart as we crawl, walk, run with you folks throughout the day.

Hours of Operation – 0830 - 1600 (PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE MORE THAN 30 MINUTES PRIOR)– We will run 4 squads, one each per “Pro” Shooter. You will start on a stage with that shooter serving as a mentor and RO, then rotate as a squad to the next stage and next “Pro” Shooter to work with them on the next prop/stage. Expect to shoot each stage twice at minimum.
Shooting Stages – Shooters will have the ability to engage targets from 350 to 1,135 yards from stages on the firing line while in the prone position. In addition, shooters will also be given the opportunity to train on the PRS Barricade Stage at 400 yards, as well as two other Range Stages/Props. 100 yard zero range will be available as needed. We respectfully ask that you come with your rifle zeroed at 100 yards, and preferably know your ammunition’s velocity, and have some sort of data/dope system such as the shooter app, a kestrel, or other ballistic program to true your data with at distance.

New Shooters: If you are brand new to long distance and don’t have all the above, shoot us an email so we know who you are, and please squad yourself in squad 3, we will work with you at the long range stage 1st or at the zero range to help confirm velocities, etc.

Payment – $55 for the day. A $15 non-refundable deposit at time of registration required. Balance due upon arrival to range – cash only. If a shooter is unable to make the date, shooter has the ability to sell their slot to another shooter – PRP, Inc. needs to be notified 24 hours in advance of range day of any changes to roster. NOTE: If you sign up to shoot the VPRC July match, the next PRP match in August, or the next match at Frontline Defense later this year we will issue you a $10 refund. If you have signed up for any of those matches already, the refund will be given at this event in cash. We are wanting to grow the sport, and we are here to help you get started and become part of our long range community.

Recommended Gear – Bring 120 rounds of ammo – plan to shoot around 90-100 rounds plus ammo needed to zero/confirm velocity. You are welcome to bring a rangefinder if you’d like (not necessary as all distances are already confirmed), you will need a chamber flag (if you do not have one PRP has them available for $2/ea. onsite) spotting scope, folding chair, bug spray/sunscreen, inclement weather gear, etc. Hearing protection is required, eye protection is recommended.

Spectators – Given the current COVID-19 guidelines, we respectfully ask that you do not bring spectators with you for this event, and as we are here to educate you in the sport we expect to have your full attention at all times.

Food/Drinks - Bottled water will be provided by PRP, Inc. staff, however lunch/snacks are on the individual shooter to bring or plan for. Reminder - No alcohol or person(s) under the influence thereof are allowed onto the range.
